Overview

During this half-day Zagreb tour, we explore the layers of the city’s urban and natural heritage, walking through different parts of Zagreb and its green Medvednica hinterland.

We start in Novi Zagreb, the concrete heart of the city, built during the Yugoslav era (post-WW2 period). After exploring the gap between ambitious urban development plans and what was actually realized, our Zagreb tour continues to the historic city centre. Here, you’ll learn how Zagreb evolved from a small provincial town into a capital.

Finally, we take a tram and cable car ride toward the green heart of Zagreb – Medvednica Mountain. After visiting the 360° viewpoint at the top of Sljeme Tower, we enjoy a light, 30-minute forest walk. Our final stop is a traditional mountain lodge, where we end the Zagreb tour with a delicious lunch.

We return by public transport to the city centre (Ban Jelačić Square). There we part ways singing “This is just adiós, and not goodbye.” 😊
